What is the Gospel?

The Gospel is the greatest story that has ever been told! It's the story of a wonderful Creator whose creation rebelled against him (Genesis 3). Even when they chose not to love Him, He loved them first (1 John 4:19) and sent His Son, Jesus Christ (John 3:16) to take the punishment that they deserved (2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Peter 3:18). Soon after He died a brutal death on the cross, He rose from the grave, conquering death (1 Corinthians 15:3-4), and offering the free gift of eternal life to those who would receive it by faith (Ephesians 2:8-9).
