BAND of BROTHERS
In 1 John 2:12-14, the apostle writes to believers in various levels of Christian growth. He classifies one of those groups as “young men” (vv. 13b, 14b) and says, "I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the Evil One.”
This verse has incredible relevance for Christian young men today, who find themselves engaged daily in a spiritual struggle, wavering as to whether or not they will strive to overcome, and confronted with the decision as to whether or not they will abide in the strength of God’s Word.
Yes, these are difficult days in which the onslaught of the Evil One is varied and aggressive. And, as someone has so poignantly expressed, “Lone rangers are dead rangers.” Individually we are weak and prone to wander, but by God’s grace there is strength in numbers (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12).
The Band of Brothers ministry has been established to connect Christian young men to the Lord and to His Word through the context of intentional spiritual relationships with other Christian brothers. Enjoying Bible study, book reading, prayer, and accountability, our mission is to strive together for the scriptural strength to succeed in our spiritual struggle.
